what is the cuase type 1 diabetes?
Not
as usual, where the immune system kills bacteria, viruses and harmful
substances potentially harmful to the body. In patients with type 1 diabetes,
the immune system actually kills the insulin-producing beta cells in the
pancreas. As a result, no insulin can be produced. Some of the main things that
causes type 1 diabetes include:
1. Genetic Factors
Genetic
or hereditary provide role if someone at risk of type 1 diabetes or not. Genes
carry instructions for making proteins needed body cells. Variants of certain
genes make proteins called HLAs on white blood cells. The protein produced by
the gene HLAs is what determines whether the immune system recognizes the cells
as part of the body or as a foreign body.
Not
only genes that HLAs be a major determinant of risk of type 1 diabetes. Yet
genes HLAs help scientists to understand how the disease develops and to
identify potential targets for therapy and prevention.
2. Autoimmune destruction of beta cells
In
patients with type 1 diabetes, white blood cells called T cells to kill and
destroy beta cells. In the medical world it is called autoimmunity. Instead of
protecting the body from bacteria and viruses, antibodies actually kill beta
cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. In fact a recent study showed it to
trigger insulin antibodies to attack the beta cells.
3. Environmental Factors
Environmental
factors such as diet, viruses and toxins thought to increase the risk of type 1
diabetes. Several scientists argue that poor environmental factors can trigger
autoimmune damage to a person with type 1 diabetes genetic susceptibility.
4. Viruses and Infections
Virus
and infection can not cause diabetes directly. The scientists believe the virus
can enter the body and destroys the beta cells, which in turn triggers the
autoimmune response in susceptible people. The experts also are developing a
vaccine for pancreatic inflammation that is expected to prevent type 1 diabetes.
5. Infant feeding
Some
studies assert giving foods in infants may increase or decrease the risk of
type 1 diabetes. Example, infants who received breast milk and vitamin D
supplements may decrease the risk. Instead babies since the beginning of
drinking cow's milk and cereal proteins have a higher risk of developing type 1
diabetes.
