Knowing The Diabetes
Among the people of this disease is more
popularly known as “sugar disease”. I'm sure you have heard or exist relatives
who suffer from diabetes. Currently it is not difficult to find a diabetic. Although
not contagious (unless genetic factors) disease like a plague.
Experts predict by 2030 the number of people around
the world will diabetes more than 600 million people. Currently diabetes is the
leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, amputations, heart failure and
stroke. Wow a great achievement for the size of the disease.
Diabetes is a condition in which your blood
glucose is too high. The reason could be because of two things, namely the
pancreas can’t produce insulin (pancreas damage) or because the insulin that is
produced does not work properly ( insulin resistance ) .
Then why insulin is so important to health.
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows glucose to enter the
body's cells. Insulin is like a key to open the cell. While glucose is useful as
an energy source of the body.
Glucose comes from digesting carbohydrate and
is also produced by the liver. When glucose is produced but no insulin or the
insulin does not work properly then glucose will accumulate in the blood.
Maybe that's the sad picture of the diabetes.
Instead of getting energy from eating carbohydrates and sugar, diabetics have
problems after consuming it.
